BOOKING YOUR ART ESCAPE VACATION
We book our two rooms through AirBnb. Please click the link associated with the room that you’d like to stay in below.
The Buffalo Room
No, we don’t keep live buffalo in this room. We named it the Buffalo Room because the former owner, Colt Idol, left us one of his big beautiful works of art and we decided to hang it proudly in this room for you to enjoy!
Feel free to roam on over to our well-appointed ceramic arts studio just across the hall OR head into Whitefish and visit the Dick Idol Signature Gallery.
The Studio Room
The Studio Room is nestled inside the ceramic studio, yet completely private and comfy when you’re ready to call it a day, take a nap or just retreat for awhile. This room has a private entrance and window for fresh Montana air.
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” ~ Henry Miller
Both Rooms Include…
Modern Ceramic Studio
From our pugmill and new extruder to three great wheels, new kiln and a room full of tools, glazes and clay, we think we’ve got everything you need to create to your heart’s content.
Feel free to bring your favorite tools, too. We know how important it is to have your favorites with you!
Comforters, extra heaters, large dresser, hangers, pillows to cuddle into with a book or YouTube ceramic video (our favorite). Both rooms are just feet away from your creative adventure and close to the fully-equipped kitchenette for your culinary pleasures.
The modern bathroom has a HUGE shower with never-ending hot water for the end of the day when you finally want to get the clay off of everywhere it shouldn’t be!
We know how hard it is to eat a healthy diet while traveling. That’s why we start your mornings with at least two or more healthy choices.
Either the fabulous Miss E’s Organic Hot Musli, with all the fixin’s or an egg dish from our very own, homegrown chickens. Plus, at least one of Steve’s rice and egg dishes. Coffee and tea included.
When you’re immersing yourself in your art, you want the comfort of your favorite foods, cooked the way you want it and you want to do it in a kitchen that has all the conveniences of home.
Washer & Dryer
Don’t worry about staying for a week or two and doing laundry. We have you covered (in clean clothing) any time you want.
OK, there’s no pool but the stunningly beautiful Tally Lake is only seven miles up the road (not in the winter unless you want to ski there…LOL). It IS Montana after all!
Rooms are hard-wired for ethernet access. Wifi is available upon request but it’s turned off at 9 pm in the evening. Don’t worry…we have adaptors for both Mac and PC computers.
Easy Drive in All Seasons
Though we’re out in the woods, the road to Art Escape is an easy trek from Whitefish or the Kalispell Airport. Four-wheel drive is recommended during the winter.
Plenty of parking near both rooms. Driveway is plowed in snow conditions all winter so easy to get into and out of.
Checkin & Checkout
You can check-in anytime between 1-8 PM and you’re welcome to stick around until 11 AM the day you leave, athough you’ll be so relaxed and have had so much fun you probably want to stay!
Cancellation is fine within 48 hours of your checkin date. Simply give us a call at 805-637-7888 and we’ll see how we can be help you.
House rules revolve around being respectful to everyone in the space and everyone pitching in to keep the art spaces clean and safe for all.
Note: This is for fun!
Making pottery takes time…likely more time than you will be here. If you happen to make a masterpiece or two that you want to keep, your piece will need to dry thoroughly before it can then be bisque fired in the kiln.
Firing takes about two days. After your piece has been bisqued, it can then be glazed and fired for a second time. This means that if you should come for the experience, not for what you will be bringing home.
If you pay for the shipping in advance, we will ship your pieces to you when they’re finished.
So what are you waiting for? Call us to book your accommadations today!
We can’t wait to play in the mud with you!
